Born in 1936 in Prague, Czechoslovakia, Stefan Krikl experienced World War II firsthand as a young boy. In his current work, entitled "Postcards from the Front" and "Achtung, Kamera, Aktion!," he painstakingly manipulates action figures with great detail by adding uniforms, hair and facial expressions to create staged miniature compositions, which he then photographs. This powerful work illustrates a time in history over 50 years ago and reminds us of the countless atrocities that were committed.
